Countdown to Lavender Bloom!

GOLDEN STATE APOTHECARY

Always Fun Meeting A New Friend!

Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

Now that we are in the offseason here at Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm, we’ve been hard at work harvesting, processing, and distilling all our lavender while cleaning up the upper field, ain’t no rest for the wicked, as it were!

While we've been working around the farmstand, we happened to be contacted by a local wildlife photographer named Deborah Kalas, and the photos she has been taking are simply stunning! Here's a sampling from the first day she came to take pictures.

This first smattering of Goldfinch photos was amazing but Deborah came a little later in the day and around this part of Santa Barbara County the birds start to head home, so she came back again and got these photos! Simply breathtaking the one of the two finches with the seed!

If you would like to see more of Deborah's beautiful shots, check out her instagram at dkalas_art or just go to her website! We've been enjoying the heck our of the shots she's done, be sure to check out our Instagram as well as we get new shots!
